Dude.

Cambria, watching me squeeze key limes {for Loren's Key Lime Bread} and very impressed with the process:

"Du-u-u-de." [I think this is a frequent line of her daddy's.]

Jacob: [a little distracted, very condescending & adult - sounding]

"Cambria, really we don't say dude, you could say that's very interesting, or you could say i really like that, or wow but don't say dude, okay?"

Cambria:

"Oh, man."

Jacob: [relieved]

"That's much better."

With a brother like that, who needs parents?

In other news, I did this for a birthday party at my house last night - isn't it pretty?! I didn't want to take it down, but the storm last night blew the queen anne's lace all over the front yard, so. . . oh well.

  3. Tracy. . .

    I will contact you. Thank you for your comment. . . it is strangely comforting to know there are so many others out there who have walked this road. . . even though I hate that anyone has to suffer the loss of a child.

    Betty- that key lime bread is right up your alley. You would love it!

  5. Loved that about "dude"! :) (And your decorations were so pretty!)

    I haven't mentioned it before because I didn't think there was much on the website that would "help", but Spencer has been working with a couple who lost their little guy to SIDS. (http://tylucasfoundation.com). You can also find them on my FB (There's a "Ty Lucas Foundation" group). Spencer says he's sure Angie would be glad to email you if you're interested, just send her a note. (And she wouldn't know me; just Spencer.) We don't know alot about them but they profess to be Christians.

    ::hugs to you!::
