Snapshots from the Trip

Cambria's highlight for the evening in our hotel was watching Extreme Bull Riding. She would get so excited and leap to her feet in the bed from the suspense! Then when the inevitable fall happened, she would just wilt: "Awww, man!" And as the cowboy limped away, she would wave and say "bye bye!" and settle back down for another round. Not to be out done, Jacob rode on Daniel's back during commercials.

On each flight, Cambria dutifully studied the oxygen mask instruction card as well as learning about flotation devices. Those cards are pretty cool, but they do tear, just for future reference. Jacob loves to fly and enjoyed every minute.

There's Jacob, nose pressed to the glass; Cambria took a break from running around to say cheese. See that little pink back pack? She actually wore it a lot!
I'll post more pictures later when my brother-in-law e-mails me the rest.

Home Again

It is so good to be home again. . . back in our own house and our own crazy life. I unpacked all day and bought groceries, cleaned, washed laundry and let the kids settle in.

It's fun to go away from life as we know it every once in a while; I always enjoy leaving but the best part is coming home.

The Pager

Today I was thinking about Daniel's pager and how annoyed I get with it sometimes when he leaves it at home; it goes off all the time, and I rarely figure out how to turn it off because he is always changing the settings.

But other times I bless it because it lets me know what is going on! Tonight, I found out about a structure fire that he was on and I never would have known if it weren't for the little pager. So I go and read it, silence the little thing the best I can, and pray that he will be safe; then I kinda smile because I know that he is doing what he loves!
