I just had to comment on your comment :)! I know what you mean about not wanting your kids to be a frustration to the other firefighers on their breaktime. When I take 6 kids into the kitchen area, we just overwhelm them. So about once a week, we try to stop in and visit Dad. I call him on his break and he meets us outside the bay. Then we see him for about five minutes. It does connect him to the kids! He loves to see them and give them smooches. He gets a quick rundown on what's going down with them.
