Shelter

This is what we want our lives to be

our home to be

our hearts to be

refuge

shelter

safety

so that the hurting around us

will never walk alone.

  2. I am a big Jars of Clay fan and heard this song for the first time a few months ago-what a beautiful picture of what our relationships could be, what they should be, what we can strive to be for one another.

I read this scripture today and I thought of you (might have had something to do with the fact that I had just read your blog :)

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,because the LORD has anointed me...to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness,a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor. Isaiah 60:1-3

Beauty from ashes. How can beauty come from ashes? I think it happens when in the midst of your mourning you find moments of joy, and in the midst of your despair you continue to praise. I'm so encouraged when I read your blog and see you finding beauty in the midst of your ashes.
