bad hair day

for both of us. only I put a hat on.

some of us are busy

. . .with so much rhubarb! There is a lot more where this came from; just come on over!
. . .with cake pops!
. . .with another roof!
. . .with running around at one hundred mph and getting scrapes like this. . .
. . .with washing sheets after little feet like this have been on them. . .
And then there are those who have nothing to do but sit and watch the grass grow. What a life!

Somebody

. . . at this house remembered it was the first day of May! It wasn't me. . . not only did I not do anything, I felt a little more guilty each time one of the neighbors or friends brought treats, decorated baskets of candy and even homemade paper flowers! Daniel and Jacob brought me these, since they both know I've been eyeing the ones hanging over my fence temptingly. Thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not steal, Hayley! I've been told the ones they brought me tonight are legal. So pretty.

Zoo

Love in the Air. . .

So happy for her!
Cambria eagerly helping Aunt Rebekah with shower gifts. . .
(brief thumb sucking session while we wait for the next gift)
Hard to say who is more excited about having this guy join the fam- "Little Bear" or Aunt Rebekah! *Little Bear: Rebekah's nickname for JD

AWANA is over for another year. . .

First night of Cubbies. . .
. . .and the last night!

First night of Puggles. . .

Thidwick

. . . the Big Hearted Moose. Wow, do I feel a kinship with you, pal.

If you've never read this delightful treat from Dr. Seuss, you must go to the library and check him out.

On second thought, you may want to wait until I return my copy. But there's always interlibrary loan, and of course Barnes and Noble! Thidwick is worth it.

A host has to go without all kinds of rest,
For a host, above all, must be kind to her guests.

Barn Demolition

What we do for fun is so twisted. . . this weekend everyone congregated to help Dad tear down a barn for a neighbor; they salvaged all the boards they wanted by dismantling the structure and then tore it down. Plenty of hair raising moments for those who crave an adrenalin rush!
Dust settling. . .

You can see the cable taut. . . they are getting ready to pull it down.

Daniel and Caleb

JD in training

Hey! He is still alive! Yay!

This is the barn before they all started. Dad has tons of cool barn boards from this project if anyone is interested!

Everyday America Rally

I really feel like this picture could sum up my life: always racing somewhere in the car! We wore red to support traditional marriage!
Cambria getting a good view in the Capitol. . .

Jacob Daniel
Who did we run into but the cousin! (He supports traditional marriage, too, just not with his sleeper outfit colors.)
IOf course the kids tried to wake him up immediately. . .
This is at the beginning of the procession into the Capitol. . . there are hundreds more people down those steps! It was a great experience and we were able to speak with two of our representitives so the trip was totally worth it!

People Watching Gene. . .

It comes from my side of the family. I know it's not polite, I know it isn't kind. We stare at people. Yep, watch them walk by and let our heads turn as our eyes follow them. As soon as they are out of earshot, we comment.

"She has the cutest shoes."

"I don't think they were married."

"He tans, that is disgusting."

Daniel has tried hard to break this terrible habit I have. He definitely has succeeded at making me aware of the crime. (I thought everybody did this! Come on, they do, don't they?)

But here we have little Cambria, innocent and unaware of the genetic disorder we share. The neighbors had company and she just stopped everything to go stare. Jacob, his daddy's spitting image in every way, glanced over at the goings on next door. . . and unconcerned, uninterested he went inside. Not my Cambria. I had to pry her away!

Daniel's work is cut out for him. . .
